AS a child I feared spiders, but a schoolteacher once told me if I didn’t get over my fear of spiders it would send me to Hell. I know she was sort of kidding, but I think where she was going with that is that fear means Satan is in control. I did not want Satan in control and I decided I am bigger and smarter and prettier than any spider and I certainly did not want to go to Hell. I have killed, in various countries, Saucer spiders, Tarantula spiders, black spiders with yellow stripes, Black Widow spiders, and nameless others. The life of a spider, if I see it, is over! 

IS your fear losing your health, being forgotten by your family, running out of money, loneliness, cancer, dying, maybe even spiders? Whatever we fear gives Satan control, but we can give control to a loving God who drives out fear. The divine creator of the universe died to make me perfect and with that kind of love, what could I possibly fear?  

Dear Lord Jesus, I love you and I thank you for loving me and freeing me from fear. In Jesus name, Amen.
