Philip has 36 years of experience in the field of child welfare and child abuse in Georgia. He served as the executive of a private not-for-profit children’s emergency shelter for nearly 20 years prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer at The Children’s Village at Christian City in 2006. Philip leads the daily operations of the village campus and also represents the organization in the community. He is also an ordained minister with the independent Christian Church/Church of Christ and has served ministries in Georgia, Florida, Ohio and Alabama.

A native of Ashland, Kentucky, Philip spent his childhood in St. Petersburg, Florida. He attended Milligan College, TN, Cincinnati Christian University, and graduated from Point University with a Bachelor’s degree. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University with concentration in trauma. Philip currently holds an Associate Professional Counselor license and is working toward full licensure. He is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Certified Youth Trauma Professional and an Advanced Child Forensic Interviewer.

Philip and his wife, Marcia (Keister), celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016. They are the parents of two married sons and they have three grandsons.
