Unconditional Love
Unconditional love. For some people, those two words instantly bring to mind the most precious relationships in their lives. Thoughts of our moms, dads, and children usually top the list. Many of the children who come to live in the Children’s Village Residential Program or Safe Place Runaway & Homeless Youth Program at Christian City have never experienced the unconditional love that many of us have known.
Instead, they have known only a life of neglect and abuse, often at the hands of those who should have loved them unconditionally. In addition to the house parents at the Children’s Village, many moms and dads are living out the last chapter of their lives on the senior side of Christian City. After raising children and retiring from their careers, some seniors choose to move to an active senior home or assisted living residence to live out their golden years in an environment that allows them to remain as independent as possible and thrive.
