Giving Tuesday Now
At Christian City, we believe that generosity has the power to unite and heal communities in good times and bad. The good works at Christian City never stop because the evils of the world never stop. Let’s come together to create a spirit of giving and action.
Please unite with us for #GivingTuesdayNow. By donating $25 or more, you will be entered to win one of the VIP experiences below.
A 10 minute personal Zoom call with Vanna White. Vanna really needs no introduction as she is a household name after spinning letters on “Wheel of Fortune” for 36 seasons.
In addition, she has donated two million dollars to charity through sales of her yarn line. She was born in Myrtle Beach, SC and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Fun fact: She’s worn more than 7,000 dresses on “Wheel of Fortune” and never the same one twice!
A personal Zoom call with Monica Kaufman Pearson. Monica is the first minority and first woman to anchor the daily evening news in Atlanta, where she worked for 37 years at the ABC affiliate station WSB-TV.
She has won over 33 Southern Regional and local Emmy Awards for reporting, anchoring and her “Closeups” celebrity interview show. Since retiring in 2012, Monica has remained busy teaching, achieving an advanced degree, hosting a weekly radio music and talk show and serving on several charitable boards. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame, the University of Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame and the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, awarded her the Presidential Vanguard award. Click here for a message from Monica
A Zoom VIP experience with Cheryl Preheim. Cheryl is the weekday evening anchor at 11Alive in Atlanta and a mother of four young children.
She has been honored with the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow award three times for individual work; and twice for her part in team coverage. Cheryl has received 14 Emmy Awards, including back-to-back Emmy Awards for the Southeast’s Best Anchor in 2017 and 2018. In-depth interviews with Nobel Peace Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai, Former President Jimmy Carter, and virtuoso violinist Izhak Perlman are among her most memorable. She’s preparing and hopes to cover her 5th Olympics at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo.
Father/Son NFL & UGA Kickers Kevin & Drew Butler offer a lucky Christian City donor the chance to win a 1.5 hour Parent/Child coaching session focused on placekicking and/or punting. This duo represents combined experience of 17 years in the NFL and 8 years of Georgia Bulldog success.
Among other accolades, the duo accounts for four-time All-American players and six-time All-SEC players, and Kevin Butler is the only kicker inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In 2009, Drew won the Ray Guy Award for top punter in NCAA football. Coaching session will take place near Duluth, GA, unless health safety measures deem that unadvisable, at which time the session may be scheduled via Zoom.
Vince Dooley autographed copy of Vince Dooley: My Forty Years at Georgia. The player, the coach, the administrator, the legend tells his story in this book co-authored by Tony Barnhart.
Georgia’s prodigal son got his start on the rough end of Mobile, Alabama, where he used football as a springboard to an incredible life. Four decades as coach of the University of Georgia football team led to 201 wins, six SEC championships, and one national title. In this book, Vince talks candidly and gives the complete inside story of his extraordinary life and career.
