Christian City’s Teen Board strives to educate young adults about Christian City’s mission and what our Children and Families programs do to help children who have not experienced a stable, supportive home environment. Our Teen Board offers unique opportunities for teenagers to contribute to the greater Atlanta community in a meaningful way, by learning how a non-profit works and participating in outreach efforts, while building resume credits and real-world experience.
Christian City’s Teen Board members are mature and passionate about helping others with demonstrated volunteer experiences. Character development is critical for the youth that are served by Christian City and our expectation is that a Teen Board member will have a good report from the people in their local community.
Membership requirements include:
- Attending high school and on track to graduate with peer group or has already graduated but is under 19 years old
- Completed application
- Provide three references – two from community leaders (pastor, church leader, local appointed or elected official, business owner or employer etc.) and one from a current or former teacher.
- Parental Consent form for any teen that is under the age of 18.
- Attend six meetings per year as well as participate in planning and executing a special event to benefit Christian City.
Verification of volunteer hours is provided to our members and, if requested, letters of recommendation to colleges or employers are made available.
