Donate items to help our Children & Families – It’s easy to make a difference!

Items currently needed to help children and families at the Children’s Village:

  • Laundry Detergent
  • Socks/underwear all ages male and female
  • Pajamas in variety of sizes for males and females
  • Pull-ups for 4 and 6-year-olds
  • Paper goods of all kinds
  • Canned & dry goods
  • Walmart, Target, etc., gift cards
  • Toiletries, health & hygiene including products for African American hair care
  • Household cleaning supplies
  • Cereal
  • Individual chip bags
  • First Aid supplies
  • Fabric and sewing supplies to make clothing for the kids

Items currently needed to help our foster/adoptive familes:

  • New clothing/shoes for ages birth-18+ (including socks, underwear)
  • Luggage/bags/suitcases (for our children to carry their personal items with them when transitioning from home to home)
  • First Aid Kits (foster parents will have to have one in their home)/first aid supplies
  • Toiletries, health & hygiene products, including hair care for individuals who are African American
  • Gift Cards (Walmart, Target, etc.)
  • New toys/books for all ages
  • Baby products (pacifiers, formula, diapers, etc)
  • Pull-ups for 4 and 6-year-olds
  • Food items
  • Household cleaning supplies
  • Scrapbooking supplies
  • Chewlery – helpful for children on the autism spectrum
  • Weighted blankets for infants 4-10 pounds – helpful for children who have experienced abuse or neglect

For the health and safety of those we serve, we do NOT accept:

  • Pre-cooked food items
  • Used clothing
  • Used household items
  • Used Mattresses
  • Used rugs
  • Used upholstered furniture
  • Old stuffed animals
  • Open toiletry items
  • Worn/used undergarments

During the month of January, we collect gift cards, of all denominations, for the children we serve. Here are some of our recommended stores to buy gift cards from:

  • Target
  • Walmart
  • Old Navy
  • Movies
  • Fast Food Restaurants
  • Kroger
  • Publix
  • Lowe’s
  • Home Depot

In addition to gift cards, we collect boxes of breakfast cereal. (Can you imagine how many boxes we go through at just one of the boys’ cottages?!)

During the month of February, we collect new feminine hygiene products. We do not accept any opened hygiene items. Items that we are most in need of for this month are:

  • Pads
  • Tampons
  • Deodorant
  • Lotion
  • Toothpaste
  • Body Wash

During the month of March, in honor of National Safe Place week, we collect items to stock our emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth, paper products, and gift cards. Our high school seniors also begin preparing for graduation during March.

Our high school seniors are preparing for graduation during April. Also during the month of April, we collect cleaning supplies to pass out to the families we serve. Many families don’t have the means to buy basic cleaning supplies. Here are some recommended items for the month of April:

  • Brooms & Mops
  • Floor Cleaner
  • Tile Cleaner
  • Dust Spray & Wipes
  • Glass/Mirror Cleaner
  • Tub/Shower Cleaner
  • Home Fresheners (i.e. Glade Plug-Ins and refills)

During the month of May, we collect paper products, gift cards, and NEW bath and bed linens for the children we serve. Solid colors are best. Below are some recommended items we collect during the month of May:

  • White bath towels
  • White hand towels
  • White washcloths
  • New Bed Sheets (Twin XL)
  • New Pillowcases (Standard)
  • Paper plates
  • Paper napkins and paper towels
  • Disposable plastic cups
  • Gift cards to WalMart, Target, Old Navy, movies, and fast food restaurants

During the month of June, we collect supplies for our children attending camps and also enjoying the pool at The Children’s Village. Here are some recommended items for the month of June:

  • One-piece swimsuits (all sizes, children and adults through XXL) – No bikinis, please.
  • Boy’s/Men’s swimming trunks (all sizes, children and adults through XXL)
  • Beach towels
  • Bug repellant
  • Bottled water
  • Sunglasses
  • Flip Flops, all sizes – children and adult
  • Bathroom Toiletries

The month of July supports our back-to-school drive for our students in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college! Here are a few of our recommended items for the month of July:

  • Laptops & Printers
  • Scientific calculators (TI-89 or higher)
  • Paper products – paper towels, paper napkins, paper plates, toilet paper
  • Beverages – Individual juice boxes, Gatorade, bottled water, etc.
  • Snack items for school lunches – chips, gold fish, teddy grams, pudding cups, breakfast bars, granola bars, fruit gummies, cookies, dried fruit (raisins boxes), etc.
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Boxes of Kleenex

During the month of August, we collect laptop computers for use by our children during the school term, gift cards, and personal hygiene products. We do not accept any opened hygiene items. Suggested donations are:

  • Laptop computers

  • Body Wash
  • Full-sized hair care products, including African-American hair products and male-specific hair products
  • Gift cards to WalMart, Target, Old Navy, movies, and fast food restaurants

The youth and families we serve are always looking for ways to build relationships with each other and have fun. During the month of September, we collect games and sporting equipment. Here are some recommended items for this month:

  • Family-friendly Board Games (especially geared toward ages 12-18)
  • New/Gently-Used Video Games & Consoles
  • Baseball/Softball Bats & Balls
  • Tennis Rackets & Balls
  • Footballs
  • Soccer balls
  • New cleats for all sports. (Call for specific sizes and sports needed.)
  • Bike tire air pumps

With winter quickly approaching, we start to collect children’s coats and cold-weather wear during the month of October. Please keep in mind that we serve youth ages 5 – College, so we need all different kinds of sizes, especially older kids’ sizes.

  • New and very gently-used coats.
  • Sweaters
  • Gloves
  • Hats
  • Fabric and sewing supplies for making Halloween costumes for the kids

November is when we focus on family Thanksgiving meals. Here are some items we accept for this month:

  • Canned Vegetables
  • Stuffing
  • Gravy Mix
  • Cake Mix
  • Cornbread Mix
  • Boxed Potatoes
  • Paper plates, napkins, and cups
  • Gift certificate to cover a cottage of 10 for Thanksgiving meal out (such as Cracker Barrel)

During the month of December, we prepare our cottages for Christmas celebrations. Some of the items we collect during this month are:

  • New unwrapped Christmas gifts (call the office at (770)964-3309 for age-appropriate gift ideas and wish lists suggested by our children.
  • Gift certificate to cover a cottage of 10 for a holiday meal out (such as Cracker Barrel)
  • Gift cards in any denomination for stores such as: Target, Walmart, Old Navy, Movies, and Fast Food Restaurants
  • New/gently used outdoor Christmas lights
  • Clear storage bins
  • Fabric and sewing supplies for making Christmas outfits for the kids
  • Golf cart for use by staff within the Children’s Village area
