Volunteering During COVID-19 Crisis
COVID-19 Volunteer Update: All vaccinated volunteers have been cleared to return to serving inside all campus buildings. If you are a registered Christian City volunteer or wish to apply, there are procedures in place that all volunteers serving in the assisted living and/or skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers must follow.
Volunteers in the assisted living and skilled nursing/rehab centers MUST do the following:
- Provide their vaccine card to show they have been vaccinated.
- Once inside the building, volunteers must follow all COVID-19 procedures.
- Adhere to social distancing guidelines.
- Complete an entrance screening.
- Complete hand hygiene when entering the building.
- Wear a mask during their entire visit.
If you are a volunteer or interested in volunteering and have not been vaccinated, you can still help at Christian City in other ways. Non-vaccinated volunteers may serve at Graceland Thrift Store, sorting donations and assisting staff members. Non-vaccinated volunteers may also serve alongside our maintenance staff, assisting them with various outdoor campus beautification projects.
You are welcome to send messages of encouragement for our senior residents, Children & Family Program residents, or Christian City staff. Submit your message online here. Or you may email a note to firstname.lastname@example.org or send USPS mail to: Notes of Encouragement, Christian City Residents, 7345 Red Oak Road, Union City, GA 30291.
Or record a quick video (one minute or less) and post it on your Facebook page with #ChristianCityStrong.
(Make sure your post privacy settings are set to public so we can see it!)
Don’t want to post to FB but still want our Seniors to see your video? Send us an email at email@example.com and we will respond with other ways to get it to us.
For our seniors who are not social media savvy, we will share the videos with them in other ways. Thank you for making our seniors smile!
For more information, please email our volunteer coordinator, Robin Smith-Calhoun.
